Everything you need for contentment - now!

So often there is such a long list of "have to's" and very little time left over for the things you really want to do. We call that "adulting" but what if it didn't have to be that way? What if contentment is much closer than we think?

Writing a book was one of those things that I really wanted, but I struggled to find time and focus to actually get the words on the page. I had wanted to write a book for more than a decade, and had made progress on a number of projects, but I was struggling to find the focus in the margins of my busy schedule. But actually becoming a published author hadn't been possible for me until we moved into a tiny house, and dramatically decreased our needs. Surprisingly, that opened up space for me to finish up my first book and start a few others. It may sound like a real sacrifice to live in a micro-home of only 125 square feet, but it made my dream life possible. And that's no sacrifice!

In fact, I believe embracing simplicity is the key to unlocking our biggest dreams and visions.

What have you been wanting to do that you've been putting off? Have you tried getting another job, or reducing your expenses? Yeah, I've tried those things but I'm not sure they really work for most people. However, what would be possible for you if you could dramatically reduce the needs in your life?

If you're considering moving into a smaller home or going tiny in order to open up some space in your life, this class will help you understand what you'd get out of making such a transition. Even if you're not considering tiny house living but are ready to simplify your life, I believe this class will help you live more spaciously in the home you already enjoy.

To be honest, this is a class about contentment, and how to create it in your own space. And who couldn't use more contentment?

Everything you need for contentment - now!

When Xaver and I went tiny, we knew our lives would change. We had no idea what those changes would be, or how profoundly they would change the trajectory of our lives together. Pretty quickly I found some mindsets that weren't helpful. And I also found that the more we embraced simplicity, the more our lives together became full of contentment. We found ways of refining our habits and routines, and made some exquisite memories.

The fun part was to see how our lives opened up. Yeah, going tiny made a huge financial difference for us. We didn't really feel the financial difference right away, but after 6 months we really did. Going tiny also opened up our schedule. We were available to go to lunch with friends, which felt a little strange after the intense pace we'd kept for so many years. We were available when a friend landed in the ditch, or another friend wrapped a vehicle around a tree. We were there with the chainsaw with the tree fell, and cleaned up the mess after the storm. We had some adventures and took only work that we could passionately say "yes" to. We had the freedom to turn down work for no other reason than the people were unkind. Going tiny for us opened up so much remarkable space in our lives to be present and helpful in new ways. I hadn't even realized how much my soul had been longing to live this freely. I used to think that living tiny changed my life, but it wasn't until a few years later that I realized that it wasn't the house that changed our lives and opened up space for us, it was Simplicity. I've been on a mission to share simplicity ever since.

What about you? Could you use a break from the gerbil's wheel? Are you ready to join the revolution? (The tiny house is optional!) Is it time to up your contentment level?
